Examples of Events

  1. Showcase Lab Tour: Invite the public to your facility for a behind-the-scenes tour! This option is often very easy for facilities with a standing public tour program.
  2. Fusion Energy Demo Day: Host a live demonstration or presentation on plasma behavior, magnetic confinement, or the engineering challenges behind fusion design. Incorporate interactive Q&A sessions with your scientists and engineers to deepen engagement.
  3. Fusion for the Future–Youth Innovation Challenge: Organize a competition for students to design creative solutions to challenges in fusion energy (e.g., cooling systems, materials, energy applications). Offer prizes and mentorship opportunities from your lab!
  4. Virtual “Ask a Fusion Expert” Webinar: Host an online panel discussion featuring your team of scientists, engineers, and executives to explain stellarators and fusion energy to a global audience. Live streams and online discussions about fusion energy can also allow you to reach a global audience, and can be easier logistically.
  5. Community Science Night–Plasma Physics in Action: Partner with local schools or community centers to host an evening of hands-on science activities, such as creating mini plasma globes or exploring magnetic fields.
  6. Art Meets Fusion–Interactive Exhibit: Collaborate with local artists to create an art installation inspired by the beauty of plasma and magnetic fields in stellarators. Maybe partner with a museum to host a one-day event focused on stellarators, featuring educational booths, videos, and interactive displays!
  7. Fusion Energy Networking Mixer: Invite researchers, industry leaders, and students to an informal networking event to discuss the future of stellarators and fusion energy. Coffee shops and breweries can make a great venue for this! Fusion-themed drinks are always fun!
  8. Fusion & Sustainability Workshop: Host a community workshop discussing how fusion energy complements renewable energy systems and addresses climate challenges.Include a brainstorming session where attendees can propose real-world applications of fusion energy.
  9. Fusion Film Night & Panel Discussion: Screen a fusion-themed documentary or science-fiction film and follow it with a discussion led by lab experts about the real science behind the fiction.
  10. Fusion Trivia Night: Host a trivia night themed around Fusion Energy.
