We invite all to come take part in From Lab to Light: Tour & Plasma Demos at MIT’s Plasma Science & Fusion Center (PSFC). Please note this event has a maximum capacity of 20 people, so register now before it fills up! The event will begin with a guided tour of the PSFC from 1:00–2:00 PM, followed by a hands-on plasma demonstration from 2:00–2:30 PM, offering a closer look at the science behind fusion and plasma physics.
The PSFC is the largest and most capable university-based fusion lab in the world. Its seven buildings on MIT’s main campus are home to 150 employees and 90 graduate students working to advance plasma physics and fusion science. Three of the world’s highest field fusion experiments and the most powerful fusion electromagnet ever have originated at the PSFC.
